Potassium Sulphate

short description:

Potassium sulfate is an inorganic salt with the chemical formula of K Ψ so ₄. Generally, the content of K is 50% – 52%, and the content of S is about 18%. The pure potassium sulfate is colorless crystal, and the appearance of agricultural potassium sulfate is mostly light yellow. Potassium sulfate is a good water-soluble potassium fertilizer because of its low hygroscopicity, low caking, good physical properties and convenient application. Potassium sulphate is especially suitable for the economic crops, such as tobacco, grape, sugar beet, tea plant, potato, flax and various fruit trees. It is also the main raw material for the production of chlorine free nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium ternary compound fertilizer. Potassium sulfate is a chemical neutral, physiological acid fertilizer, which is suitable for a variety of soil (excluding flooded soil) and crops. After being applied to soil, potassium ion can be directly absorbed by crops or absorbed by soil colloids. The results showed that potassium sulfate could be applied to Cruciferae crops and other crops which need more sulfur in the soil with sulfur deficiency.

Usage

Potassium sulfate is a colorless crystal with small hygroscopicity, not easy to agglomerate, good physical properties, easy to apply, is a good water-soluble potassium fertilizer. Potassium sulfate is also a chemical neutral and physiological acid fertilizer. Potassium sulfate is a kind of chlorine-free, high-quality and high-efficiency potassium fertilizer, especially in tobacco, grape, beet, tea tree, potato, flax and various fruit trees and other sensitive crops, is an indispensable important fertilizer; it is also the main raw material of high-quality nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium ternary compound fertilizer.

Precautions For Use

1. in acid soil, excess sulfate will aggravate soil acidity, and even aggravate the toxicity of active aluminum and iron to crops. Under the condition of flooding, excessive sulfate will be reduced to hydrogen sulfide, which makes the roots black. Therefore, long-term application of potassium sulfate should be combined with farmyard manure, alkaline phosphate fertilizer and lime to reduce acidity. In practice, drainage and sun drying measures should be combined to improve ventilation.

2. in calcareous soil, sulfate and calcium ions in soil form insoluble calcium sulfate (gypsum). Too much calcium sulfate will cause soil to harden, so we should pay more attention to the application of farm manure.

3. we should focus on the application of potassium sulphate in tobacco plants, tea plants, grapes, sugarcane, sugar beet, watermelon, potato and so on. The price of potassium sulfate is higher than that of potassium chloride, and the supply of goods is less. Therefore, it should be mainly used in the economic crops sensitive to chlorine and fond of sulfur and potassium.

Fourth, this kind of fertilizer is physiological acid salt, which can reduce soil pH when applied in alkaline soil.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry and ventilated place.
