Rice lodging is a hard problem in the process of planting and management. Since rice is vulnerable by extreme weather such as strong wind and precipitation in the later stage of growth, once lodging, it will affect the production. Therefore, in the process of rice planting, we must pay attention to the problem of rice lodging.
In order to reduce the probability of rice lodging, measures should be taken to control the amount of water in the paddy field, to dry the field in time, reasonably control the seedling density and not too deep, control the use amount of nitrogen fertilizer, and timely control diseases and insect pests. The most important measure to prevent rice lodging is by plant growth regulators. Which should be used according to the growth of the field, and the appropriate dosage must be mastered.
Prohexadione calcium:On the one hand,Prohexadione calcium can reduce internode length, dwarf plant base height, and improve lodging resistance; on the other hand, it can reduce the rate of shrunken and increase the number of seeds. Prohexadione calcium resolves the contradiction between lodging resistance and high yield of rice. Under the premise of ensuring a certain plant height and planting density, it promotes the filling of weak rice grain.
Compared with triazole products, the advantages of Prohexadione calcium:
1. Foliar absorption is highly active
2. Short half-life, low toxicity and no residue
Paclobutrazol: Use 100~133 grams of 15%WP Paclobutrazol per mu, add 100 kg of water to make a paclobutrazol solution with a concentration of 150~200mg/L, spray the stems and leaves with the solution before jointing, which can shorten the internodes , thicken the stem wall and make the mechanical organization developed, which can effectively prevent lodging.
Chlormequat Chloride: At the beginning of jointing, use 50%AS Chlormequat Chloride 50~100g per acre and add 50 kg of water to prepare a concentration of 500~1000mg/L. Spray the stems and leaves to make rice plants dwarf and prevent lodging.
Ethephon: For late-season rice seedlings, use 40-50 kg of Ethephon with a concentration of 3000 mg/L per mu for foliar spray, or use 50 kg of 1500 mg/L after planting in the field for 20-30 days. Spraying ethephon liquid can effectively inhibit plant height growth and increase tillers after treatment.
