Kinetin is a kind of endogenous cytokinin, which is one of the five major plant hormones. It’s chemical name is 6-Furfurylaminopurine (or N6-Furylmethyladenine). It is a natural plant endogenous hormone of purines, and it is also the first discovered by humans, which can be synthesized artificially already. It is hardly soluble in water, ethanol, ether and acetone and soluble in dilute acid or alkali and glacial acetic acid.
The application, function and final usage :
6-Furfurylaminopurine can induce cell division and regulate differentiation of isolated tissues, delay the degradation of protein and chlorophyll, therefore it can delay plant senescence and make plant epidermis flexible and shiny. In addition to promoting cell division, it also delays the senescence of detached leaves and cut flowers, induces bud differentiation and development, and increases stoma opening.
6-Furfurylaminopurine is absorbed by crop leaves, stems, cotyledons and germinating seeds, and moves slowly. It can promote cell differentiation, division and growth; induce callus growth; promote seed germination and break dormancy of lateral buds; delay leaf senescence and premature plant senescence; regulate nutrient transport; promote fruit setting; induce flower bud differentiation; regulate the stoma opening of the leaves and so on.
6-Furfurylaminopurine has the function of promoting cell division and tissue differentiation; inducing bud differentiation to relieve the apical advantage; delaying protein and chlorophyll degradation, keeping fresh and anti-aging; delaying the formation of separation layer, increasing fruit setting, etc. It is usually used for tissue culture, and cooperates with auxin to promote cell division and induce callus and tissue differentiation.
