deet is a broad-spectrum insect repellent. It can repel many kinds of biting insects in various environments, such as gnats, midges, black flies, scrub mites, deer flies, flea, gnats, horse flies, sand flies, small flying stables, flies and ticks.
It is often used in combination with other insecticides, but is more toxic when used with carbamate insecticides.
DEET poses a potential risk to humans, especially pregnant women: when it comes into contact with the skin, the repellent products containing DEET can penetrate into the blood, possibly through the blood into the placenta and even the umbilical cord, thereby causing teratogenesis
Ppregnant women should avoid using DEET Chemicalbook repellent products. They may choose to wear light-colored long-sleeved shirts and trousers, or use a natural repellent to prevent biting. If it is necessary to use a DEET repellent product, they should also use the lowest effective concentration of repellent as far as possible.
